Personal and Family Information
Elizabeth was born on 14 May 1819 in Virginia, the daughter of Meredith P. Goodman and Martha "Patsy" Smith Shelton.
She died on 9 Dec 1862 in Lawrence County, Missouri.[Note 2]
Her husband was Ira Ellis Shelton, who she married on 11 NOV 1842 in Todd County, Kentucky. Their nine known children were Margaret A (1845-1886), Francis Marion (1846-1926), Zachariah (1848-1917), Mary (1850-1863), Catherine Ellen (1853-1926), Chrissilva (1853-1858), Penelope Adeline (1855-1938), Virginia E (1857-1881) and William Henry (1861-1897).

Buried here are Moses Hurt Shelton(1804-1869 & wife Nancy Clark Shelton (1813-1869), Vineyard TWP pioneer settlers who left Pittsylvania Co., Va in 1836, lived 10 years in Todd Co., Ky and came to Lawrence Co in 1847, Moses owned a 280 acre farm nearby. Also here are their son George; niece Elizabeth Goodman Shelton and her children Mary & Chris; daughter Mary Ann’s husband B T Mahan and Moses brother Henry & wife Sarah.
