Note 1

William Floyd "Bill" Baldwin was born April 9th, 1946 in Little Rock, Arkansas and passed away peacefully at home the morning of April 12, 2012. Bill was a 1964 graduate of Central High School where he was a star athlete, voted most handsome, as well as most friendly.

After attending college and joining the Army Reserves, Bill worked for Union Pacific Railroad and later pursued a career in the mortgage banking industry. In the mid 1960s, Bill made Cabot his home where he later raised his family. Bill was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed many hours hunting and fishing. He was known for his gardening skills and was quick to share with family and friends. Bill was a dog lover and spent many years with his favorite Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Lea and Katie. Bill was of the Baptist faith and was a member of First Baptist Church in Cabot.

Bill was the son of Mattie Lee Baldwin and the late Ezra Baldwin of Little Rock. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Houston and Elsie Melissa Ann Barham and Mattie Lou and Ezra Francis Baldwin.

Cherishing his memory are his wife of 25 years, Carol Harper Baldwin; his mother, Mattie Lee Baldwin; his children, William Todd Baldwin of Austin, Spence Clay Baldwin and wife Kerry of Cabot, Whitney Brooke Dickens and husband Chris of Sherwood, Christian Blair Baldwin of Cabot; and grandchildren, Zoe Nicole Baldwin and Whitney Wren Baldwin of Austin.

We will forever be grateful for the kindness of Bill's dearest friends who provided our family with comfort and prayers throughout his illness. A special thank you to Karlos Heird, Rusty Hyde, Dennis Baldwin and their families for their many years of friendship.

Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Monday, April 16, 2012 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road in Sherwood.
