Funeral services for Mr. John H. Shelton, 83, of Crowville will be held 11 am Friday, April 10, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, Crowville, with Rev. Wayne Ray and Rev. Marion Collier officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5- 8 pm Thursday, April 9, 2015, at the funeral home.

Mr. Shelton was born November 29, 1931, in Jacksonville, AR to the union of Edward L. and Eva Cook Shelton and passed from this life on April 6, 2015 at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Crowville, a veteran serving in the United States Army and he was also treasure of the Crowville Volunteer Fire Department.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother Lloyd Shelton; two sisters: Adealiah Sheets and Flossie Nipper.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years JoAnn Dewitt Shelton of Crowville; two sons: Jeff Shelton adn Cat Whitaker of West Monroe and John E. Shelton and wife Cindy of Winston-Salem, NC; three grandchildren: Carl Shelton, Sarah Shelton, Kyle Shelton and wife Reva; two great grandchildren: Michael Ramshur and Taylor Shelton; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be James Cupit, Ricky Maxwell, Roy McDuffie, Ronnie Newsom, Curtis Russ and Paul Till

Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Cumpton, Vernon McManus, Murray Shoemaker, Dwain Tharpe and Vernon Wolf.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to First United Methodist Church, Crowville and The Methodist Children's Home, Ruston.
