Notes

Note 1

Photo found by Kathy James 7/22/08:

...And I was able to track down the portrait of Emma Essie, who married Hiram Glover. One day I just decided to drive to Lonoke because I was determined to find this picture. My dad said he knew there were big portraits of Essie and Hiram hanging in the big house in Carlisle at one time.

So I tracked down Bobby Glover's daughter, who is living in that house. She said she didn't have it and that I should check with her cousin, who is Bill Glover's daughter. Sure enough, she had it.

The portrait is hanging in a room in the Chambers Nursing Home in Carlisle, of all places. Bill's daughter works at the nursing home, so I got lucky that it was there and not at her house, or I would have had to wait until she got home. But I would have waited! ha....

It's a beautiful portrait and Essie was a beautiful girl......
