Mary Lucille Massey

Springdale-Mary Lucille Massey, 91, of Springdale died Feb 18, 2000. She was born Feb 8, 1909, in Tupelo to Grover and May Maude Gardner.

She was a retired teacher who taught for 30 years in Newport public schools and was a member of First Baptist Church of Springdale.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Earl Massey.

survivors include one brother, Woodrow Gardner of Tupelo, one daughter and son in law, Betty Jo Bailey and Jack of Fayetteville; one granddaughter, Leigh Ann Mendenhall of Springdale, one grandsom, Scott Simmons Bailey of Tulsa, Okla.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville. Joe Dorman will officiate.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale.
