Mary was born about 1861 in Desoto County, Mississippi, the daughter of James W Bowie and Caniza Reeves.

She died about 1890 in Jackson County, Arkansas.

Her husband was Robert F. Seaton. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Robert Frederick (1889-1952).

oral traditon in family names Alice as Fred's mother

only other evidence of Alice and different spelling of name is Doris two letters and oral traditon

Note also in her letter to Bobby Bowie, Aunt Ruby said that Fred Seaton was half brother of Arthur Bowie. Arthur probably wrote Caniza obit, named her his mother and Fred as her grandson. Cora in Fred’s death certificate name Alice Bowie as his mother.
