Notes

Note 1

Marblehead residents Edmund F. Cataldo III, a retired Navy captain, and Lane Elizabeth Wallace were married on July 7, 2012, at a friend’s winery in Napa Valley, Calif. The couple also held an East Coast reception for family and friends at the Boston Yacht Club in Marblehead on Aug. 11.

The bride is the great-granddaughter of Roger Upton, who founded the United States Power Squadrons in Marblehead in 1912. Her grandfather, Edward Upton, was an attorney who lived his life in Marblehead, and her grandmother, Anna Pennypacker Upton, obtained a master’s degree from Harvard in 1932 and was the welfare agent for Marblehead in the 1950s.

The bride is the daughter of Nancy Ann Upton Wallace, who was born and raised in Marblehead, and Bruce Alden Wallace, of New York and Marblehead. She graduated with honors from Brown University and has worked as an aviation and adventure writer for the past 25 years.

The groom is the son of Dr. Edmund F. Cataldo Jr. and Anne O’Connell Cataldo of Wrentham, Mass. and Boothbay, Maine. He is a graduate of the Naval Academy and retired from the Navy on June 1 after 30 years of service. His last assignment was as the commanding officer of the Reserve Meteorology and Oceanography (METOC) community. He is also a senior program manager at Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems in Woburn.

The groom’s son, Connor Cataldo, who graduated from Marblehead High School in 2011, was the best man. The bride’s niece, Kinana McDaniel, of Asheville, N.C., was the maid of honor.

The couple is currently living in the house the bride’s grandparents bought in 1930, which has been in the family ever since.
