His wife was Annie Elizabeth Marsten, who he married in 1808. The place has not been found. Their seven known children were William Frederick (1811-1896), Annie Elizabeth (1815->1902), Fitz Henry (1814-1814), Fitz Henry (1817-1890), Alexand V Griswold (1819-1857), Abby (1822-1901) and Annie Cecilia (1825-1891).
