Karston Lloyd Steelman, infant son of Clay and Lydia Steelman, of Bryant, Arkansas, passed away Monday. October 4, 2010. Also surviving are his grandparents, Lloyd and Betty Farmer of Malawi, Africa, and Sam and Jill Steelman of Camden, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at First Southern Baptist Church, 604 S. Reynolds Rd, Bryant, Arkansas 72022, with Rev. Patrick Mead officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Gary Samuel Steelman, Sr. 70, died Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Pine Hills Nursing Home in Camden following complication from Alzheimer’s.
Sam is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jill Flynt Steelman; his three sons, Kristopher Noel Steelman and his wife Katherine Steelman, his two kids Kristopher Daulton and Kristen Noelle Steelman; Gary Samuel Steelman II and his wife Alicia Steelman, their son Baylor Karston Steelman; Clayton Flynt Steelman and his wife Dr. Lydia Steelman, their two kids Kylie Hope and Naomi Grace Steelman. Sam also leaves behind his older brother Richard Dean Steelman and his three sisters Judy Ann Martin and her husband Charlie, Dixie Lee Pennington and her husband Wayne, and Elsie Mae Steelman, and sister in law Dot Steelman, surviving wife of Eugene Steelman, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hollie Mae Steelman; his father, Leamon Dean Steelman; his oldest brother Franklin Eugene Steelman; his sister Ruby Lee Steelman; and his two grandsons, Karston Flynt Steelman, son of Clay and Lydia Steelman, and Taylor Steelman, son of Gary and Alicia Steelman.
Mr. Steelman was born on December 26th 1949 in Camden, AR to Dean and Hollie Steelman. Sam was the second to youngest of 7 siblings. In the winter of 1972 Sam was setup on a blind date with Jill Flynt. They would go on to get married in the Fall of 1973. Sam began his career as a surveyor for the Arkansas State Highway Department. On January 1st, 1973 Sam went to work for the City of Camden where he would spend the next 45 years.
Sam was an active member of FBC Camden. He loved playing softball with his buddies for many years throughout South Arkansas. Sam was on the City Bowling League as well. His interest included hunting and fishing, working in the yard and napping in his recliner. He really loved his sports. Some of his favorite past times were coaching and watching his three sons from t-ball all the way to college sports. Sam also served as a volunteer fireman for the Camden Fire Department (22 years). He was a devoted spouse, dad, grandad, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Leamon Dean Steelman, 69, of Camden died Wednesay in a local Hospital.
The funeral will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Greenwood Annex under the direction of Proctors Funeral Home of Camden.
He was a lifelong resident of Camden, a retired groceryman and a member of the Grace Baptist Church.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs Hollie Mae Nalls Steelman, three sons, Eugene Steelman, Richard Steelman and Sammie Steelman, all of Camden, three daughters, Mrs Judy Martin of Prescott, Miss Elsie Steelman and Mrs Dixie Pennington of Camden, two brothers, Ruthers Steelman of Camden, Lloyd Steelman of Kansas City, Kan and one sister, Mrs Elsie Mullens of San Francisco, Calf and seven grandchildren

Richard Dean Steelman 18 Nov 1943-9 Aug 2024, age 80
Richard Steelman Memories of Life There has never been a bigger fan of Westerns than our dad, Richard Dean Steelman. He rode into the eternal sunset August 9, 2024.
Richard is survived by his son, Jeffrey Dean Steelman and his wife Sherri; son, Mitchell Trey Steelman and his wife Bethannie; son, Richard Brooks Steelman and his wife Kelly; and his "sweetie," Shirley Gorman.
He loved his host of grandchildren and great grandchildren: grandchildren Gary and Stoni Fortney and great-grandson, Jackson; grandson, Boulder Steelman; granddaughter, Betty Blue Steelman; granddaughter Nikki Cross and great grandchildren, Alexia Johnson and Kyler Smith; granddaughter, Cyan Frey; grandchildren of heart, Mark and Molly Cupp; great-grandchildren of heart, Taylor Cupp, Myka Cupp, Trista Cupp, and Brielle Cupp.
Richard also leaves behind his sister, Judy Ann Martin and her husband Charlie; sister, Dixie Lee Pennington and her husband Wayne; sister-in-law, Jill Steelman, surviving wife of Sam Steelman; sister-in-law, Dot Steelman, surviving wife of Eugene Steelman; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Steelman was born on November 18th, 1943, in Camden, AR to Dean and Hollie Steelman. He was one of 7 children. His father ran Steelman's Grocery in Camden where Richard often helped his father with the business. Richard proudly served his country in the Army National Guard where he earned medals for his marksmanship prior to his Honorable Discharge. He retired from the International Paper Company of Camden after many years of working. After retirement, he decided the quiet life was not for him and went back to work for Southern Arkansas University Tech in East Camden in the Maintenance department where he enjoyed many years and made many very special friends.
Richard was an avid cyclist and peddled many miles throughout his life. He loved to fish and made many memories with his children hunting rabbits, deer, and squirrels on goat island. As his children enjoyed playing baseball, he would coach the team or cheer loudly from the stands when he wasn't coaching. He loved to laugh and was a very sneaky trickster. You knew how much he liked you based upon how much he picked on you. He was a strong Christian and ensured his children grew up knowing Jesus. His children will tell you they always felt supported, loved, and secure because of the deep devotion shown to them by their father. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
