His wife was Ann Grundy, who he married on 12 JAN 1709 in Wye House, Talbot County, Maryland. Their six known children were Henrietta Maria (1710-1748), Robert (1712-1770), Margaret (1715-c1755), James II (1717-1768), Deborah (1719-1739) and Ann (1724-1794).
