His wife was Charlotte Perry Elmore, who he married on 3 JUN 1817 in Huntingdon Castile, Laurens District, South Carolina. Their six known children were Mary Louisa (1819-1858), Sophia Caroline (1820-1843), John Elmore (1822-1825), Sarah Anderson (1825-1895), Abner Thomas Franklin (1830-1849) and SON NONAME (1832-1832).
