As teacher, as officer, as banker, merchant, farmer and citizen, he commanded the confidence of the city and the community. Early in his affliction he had told his loved ones he would not recover. Yet without fear and without murmuring he was humbly resigned to the will of God. His faithful and living companion, two beloved sons, Dr. Kenneth B. and Cargile, the youngest of the family; Miss Annie, their amiable and only daughter; Mrs. Dr. Kenneth Huffman and two little sons survive him – two infant sons having hone before.
