Notes

Note 1

Marriage Notes: From a newspaper clipping in the custody of Fred Griffith, Jan 2009: At Jackson, Miss, August 16, the home of Mrs. M. E. Easterling in West Street was

the scene of a very pretty wedding when her daughter, Miss Hattie Easterling, plighted her troth to Mr. F. F. Flynt of Hattiesburg, only the college friends and relatives being present. . . . the impressive ceremony of the Episcopal church was read by Mr. Hill, pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church, a friend and a schoolmate of the groom. The only attendants were two sisters of the bride, Misses Bessie and Lynda Easterling, . . . The bride wore a beautiful dress of French batiste, trimmed in lace. Her beautiful chesnut brown hair was adorned with a spray of natural lilies of the valley. She carried an arm bouquet of brides roses and asparagus ferns.

Miss Easterling attended Millsaps college for two sessions, where she led her classes in several studies and where she numbers her friends by the score. Her natural beauty and happy disposition made all who knew her love her.

Mr. Flynt is an employee of the Cumberland Telephone company of Hattiesburg. He also is very popular among his college friends, attending Millsaps college for two seasons, standing first in his classes. He is a member of the college club Kappa Alpha, his bride being a Pi Kappa Alpha also. The bride and groom left for their future home in Hattiesburg.
