His wife was Letita unknown, who he married in 1734 in Middlesex County, Virginia. Their eleven known children were William (1735-<1787), Abraham (1737-1789), Gabriel (1739-1803), Elizabeth (1740-1816), Lewis (1741-1794), Spencer (1743-1803), Beverly B (1744-1825), Jane (1744-1821), Susanna (1752-1847), Armistead (1753-1844) and Vincent (1754-1802).
