Ariana Heaton Hall Obituary

Ariana Heaton Hall March 18, 1917 - June 26, 2008

Ariana, age 91, passed away peacefully with family by her side.

She was the widow of Houghton Hall, the mother of Jill Hall Travis and the late John Houghton Hall.

She was sister to the late Polly Heaton, the late Marty Determan, Alice Lloyd Allen of Sonoma and Elizabeth Mohr of Benton Harbor, Michigan;

grandmother to the late Theodore Earl Travis, Andrew Heaton Travis of Jersey City, New Jersey and Jeffrey Ryan Hall of Sacramento; and great-grandmother to Alexander, Brandon, Haylee and Hayden Hall and Andrew, Mark and Sophia Travis. Ariana came West from the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 1937, married Houghton in 1939 and settled in Marin.

She and her husband loved gardening, and together they had over 500 varieties of camellias at their Sleepy Hollow property. Ariana loved to volunteer at Marin General Hospital, assisted with Hospice and the Kidney Foundation. She was a loyal friend who loved hosting social events at her home. As an avid tennis player, she played tennis weekly to the age of 85. In her younger years, she was a figure skater and ballroom dancer.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 2nd at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ross.
