William was born in 1826 in Tennessee, the son of William Bleakley and Elizabeth Bleakley.

He died in 1865 in Arkansas.

His wife was Catherine Bleakley, who he married in ABT 1847 in southern Arkansas. Their six known children were William J (1848-1869), Newton J (1851-<1890), John C (1854-1901), Mary E (1858-?), Mant? (1860-<1890) and Robert C (1863-1947).
