His wife was Catherine Carlton, who he married on 6 Oct 1785 in Wilkes County, Georgia. Their only known child was Rebecca (1786-1843).

Note 1

John Harris Freeman served in the Georgia Troops under General Elijah Clark and was at the Sieges of Augusta and Charleston. He also fought under Generals Pickens, Morgan, and Sumter in South Carolina and was under Count D'Entaing at the Siege of Savannah.
