Notes

Note 1

1924 letter from JC Alexander to his cousin LC Flynt from Becky Merritt, Jan 4, 2015. Kathy James - " Yes, that came from me.  It was actually in a bunch of records that were given to my dad (Bobby Flynt) after his mother, Susie Holt Flynt died.  Susie was married to LC (Louis Clayton) Flynt. I only found out about these records last year or the year before.  Had no idea my dad had them all these years."

I went to the TN State Archives and Library today and downloaded images from the civil war pension application of Benjamin W Rives. There were a lot of documents pertaining to this application. I ended out downloading 44 images.   I will try to email it to you in a minute. It is 20.4 MB. It contained a statement signed by Mrs. E.V. Boyd dated 4th Oct 1909 that said:

State of Arkansas, County of Lonoke. “ Mrs. E.V. Boyd, states that she is acquainted with B.W Rives, and was acquainted with his wife Harriet Ellen Rives during her life and that said Harriet Ellen Rives died in the Town of Argenta, Pulaski County, Arkansas on the 23rd day of October 1864 of consumption of which she had been a sufferer for more than a year prior to her death, that she is a sister of said Harriet Ellen Rives and that said Harriet Ellen Rives died at her Father’s home”. Signed by Mrs. E.V Boyd on the 4th day of October 1909. Notary was J.C Boyd.
