Tom was an excellant cabinet maker but not much of a manager.
He made cabinets for grandfather clocks for a while, then had a more general furniture making shop--Flynt's Fine Furniture which used mainly hardwoods such as walnut, cherry, and oak.
Working with the hardwoods, led to more specialized manufacturing of trim and molding for the fast growing home construction industry of NW Arkansas. He was founder of Flynt and Son Hardwood--may have had a couple of different names after a reorganizations, and was manager of the business for many years.
