obit Michael Noel Bone

Funeral services for Michael Noel Bone, 39, of Batesville, who died Friday, July 3, were held at 10am Monday July 6 at the First United Methodist Church in Batesville. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery at Batesville.

Mr Bone, a science teacher at Newark High School for 10 years, served for 10 years on the Independence County

School Board, including several years as president. He recently won a Fulbright Fellowship to attend the Geology Field Camp for Earth Science Teachers in Wyoming.

He was a graduate of Batesville public schools and Arkansas Tech University at Russellville and was completing graduate study at Arkansas State University at Jonesboro.

He was a Methodist and a charter member of Independence County Ducks Unlimited. While serving as president of the Batesville Montessori School, he designed and constructed the school's playground equipment.

Mr Bone is survived by his wife Freeda Birlson Bone; three daughters, Sallie-Anne, Mich Noel and Lucy Elizabeth Bone all of Batesville; his mother Margery S Bone of Batesville, and two sisters Patti B. Norman of Newport and Dana Bone Clayton of Batesville.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church at Batesville and the Independence County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.
