His wife was Mary Ellen Coy, who he married in 1912 in Sarpy County, Nebraska. Their only known child was Florence Marie (1917-1998).

his grandfather Holman Freeman Simmons was the grandsond of Holman Freeman and nephew of Col Holman Freem of Revolutionary fame...

Mary Makima in Jan 1969 notes that in 1901 Huntley wrote to Alabama from San Francisco saying that he was home from the war.
