Notes

Note 1

John Richard Pollard, born Feb 15, 1946 one of the first of baby boomers. Different from his beginning as most baby boomers were the children of returning world war two veterians, Richard’s father was a veterian of the first world war who died before Richard’s fourth birthday.

Before Arkansas became a state, Richard’s great, great grandfather George P Lambert was living near the White River not far from present day Newport. One of his uncles was an All American Basketball player at the Universtiy of Arkansas.

Richard served in 82nd Airborne in Vietnam, and though he never mentioned it, I’m pretty sure he had battle wounds. Other than his military service, he never really left home, worked in his mother’s grocery and cafe. He died in car wreck near Augusta May 15, 1989 at age 43 years 3 months.

He graduated from Laura Conner High School in 1964 with two cousins, Frances Lambert and Linda Coleman.
