Note 1

Hastings, Maggie - Died, Feb 23, at the residence of her grandmother, Mrs. S.E. Black, Maggie Hastings in the 21st year of her age. The deceased was born in Benton Co., Ark July 13, 1879. Moved when a child with her parents to Texas.

There her parents both died, leaving her and a sister, still younger, orphans and in a strange land. Their grandfather, Wm Black, lately deceased, brought them under his fatherly care until his death. Maggie’s home was still with her Grandmother at the time of her death.

May that comfort and support which God the comforter alone can give be abundantly bestowed upon the bereaved sister and relatives all. P. Carnahan.
