Levi was born on 1 Sep 1801 in Kentucky, the son of John Woods and Charity Dysart.

He died on 28 Nov 1857 in Carroll County, Tennessee.

His wife was Arantha Jane Dinwiddie, who he married in ABT 1828. The place has not been found. Their ten known children were Nancy R. (1829-1881), Cassandra Charity (1830-1878), William Henry (1832-1884), John Tilman (1833-1890), James Dinwiddie (1834-1905), Mary A.
