RENO, Nev. - Madge Alden Boyd Woods, 86, died on Sept. 30, 2009, in Reno, Nevada. A memorial service will be on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Lemons Funeral Chapel. Family will receive visitors at 1 p.m. before the service.
Madge was born on May 8, 1923, in Plainview to Arthur and Mary Effie Boyd. She attended Plainview schools and graduated from Plainview High School. She attended and graduated from Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. She married Lloyd Woods on June 5, 1943, at First Baptist Church, Plainview. After Lloyd's discharge from the service after WWII, they made their home in Plainview.
Madge was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; a son, Clay; and a brother, Arthur Elliot Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Rhoda Woods Cummings of Reno, Nevada; five grandchildren, Courtney Lantto, Carter Cummings, Stefany Mahoney, Bailey Woods, Kyler Woods; one great grandson, Ethan Lantto; a brother, John Thomas Boyd and wife Bonnie of Amarillo.
