MRS. GREENE DIES AT PEA RIDGE SUDDENLY

Eva, wife of Dr. L.O. Greene of Pea Ridge, died suddenly and unexpectedly at the family residence late Sunday afternoon, September 23, 1934.

Mrs. Greene was born and reared in Bentonville and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Pickens Dickson, of pioneer families of Benton county.

She was married to Dr. L.O. Greene on December 31, 1902, and have lived in the town of Pea Ridge since their marriage.

Dr. and Mrs. Greene have an only son, Robert A. Greene, now a professor in the Chemistry Department of the University of Arizona at Tucson. Mrs. Greene had been in her unusual health and had visited in Bentonville and Rogers during the previous week. She had attended Sunday school in the morning and was preparing to come to Bentonville to visit, when she was suddenly stricken with a heart attack, and instantly expired.

Besides her husband and son she leaves one brother Judge W.A. Dickson of Bentonville, two nephews, Joe Dickson of Bentonville and Price Dickson of Fayetteville, a large number of cousins and a host of friends to mourn her departure.

She became a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Bentonville early in life and after her marriage transferred her membership to the Presbyterian Church at Pea Ridge, where she was active and earnest in church work until the time of her death.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church in Pea Ridge at 2 o'clock P.M. Wednesday, September 26, by Dr. Joseph Miller the pastor and Rev. Edwin Mace, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church at Bentonville.

She was interred on the Dickson lot in the Bentonville cemetery by the side of her father, mother, two brothers and two sisters. [Benton County Record & Democrat – Bentonville, Benton County, Arkansas – Thursday, September 27, 1934 -Page 4 Column 2]
