HICKMAN, Sophronia T. WILLIAMS – Mrs. Sophronia T. Hickman, wife of Wm. Hickman , died Sept. 17th at her home on Pea Ridge. The funeral was held on the 18th by Rev. Phillips of Springdale and interment was in the Hickman cemetery. Sophronia Williams was born August 15, 1859 on Pea Ridge, was converted in her 15th year and joined the Missionary Baptist church at Twelve Corners. She moved her letter to Pea Ridge church about 25 years ago. She was married to Wm. Hickman Jan. 11, 1881 and to this union was born 8 children, 4 of whom are living while 4 died in infancy. She leaves a mother, sister and brother, and 3 step-children to mourn her loss. The deceased was a sister of Mrs. W.M. Hammack of Rogers and Mr. and Mrs. Hammack were present at the funeral. HICKMAN, William – {from Pea Ridge} Again the death angel has visited our neighborhood and called one of our best citizens, Wm. Hickman, better known here as "Uncle Bill." He had been in poor health for a long time but his condition had only been considered serious for a few days. Death was the result of the grippe and pneumonia. He died Saturday about 10 o'clock. He was a very earnest Christian man, a member of the Missionary Baptist Church, a kind neighbor and a devoted husband and father. He leaves a wife and seven children besides brothers and sisters to mourn his loss. Rev. Phillips conducted the funeral services Sunday, Feb. 26th at the family cemetery where the remains were laid to rest until the resurrection morning. William Hickman died last Saturday at his home on Pea Ridge after a short illness with pneumonia. He was an old resident of the Pea Ridge community and was highly esteemed by all his neighbors and friends and was regarded as one of the best citizens of Benton county. Deceased is survived by many relatives throughout this section, among them being two brothers, Robt. A. and James Hickman of this city.
