James Athel Kennedy, Sr., 80, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 at his home. He was born in Searcy, Arkansas on August 17, 1940 to the late Athel Lee and Bonnie Mae Nelson Kennedy. James was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Donna Sue Copeland.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Caroline Sue Holt Kennedy who he met at the W.S. Compton Wholesale Company where they both worked; by sons James Athel Kennedy, Jr., (Joy) of Cordova, Tennessee, and Andrew Leigh Kennedy (Marie) of Cabot, Arkansas, and by granddaughter Kara Kennedy.
James loved to Deer Hunt, being a member of the Boiling Pot Hunting Club in Camden, he enjoyed golf after his retirement, and had been a member of the Air National Guard.

Graveside Service will be held Friday, 2:00 p.m., December 4th, 2020, at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville, Arkansas.
