VETERAN: American Civil War - CSA, Wilkinson Rifles of Wilkinson Co, MS

Enlisted in service of confederacy at Woodville, Wilkinson Co in 1861, and was wounded in the battle of Sharpsburg, MD 17 Sep 1862 but continued in service until his discharge at Richmond, VA after Lee's surrender in 1865. The last survivor of Co K, 16th Miss Reg., known as the Wilkinson Co Rifles. Uninterrupted practice of medicine for 61 years.
