Note 1

Carroll, Robert M.- Death has again entered our midst and claimed for its victim one our most highly esteemed citizens in the person of R.M. Carroll who died at his home near Bentonville on Thursday morning last at 10 o'clock after a long, protracted and severe illness. Mr. Carroll was an estimable, Christian gentleman and bore the highest esteem of all who knew him. He was a consistent and devoted member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church. The funeral services were held at the family residence Friday morning at 10 o"clock, conducted by Rev. F.T. Charlton, the pastor and the remains were taken to the Odd Fellow's cemetery and interred. The Democrat joins the many friends of the bereft family in extending sympathy to them in their hour of sore affliction. We hope that although they may feel lonely here without him the kind words and life deportment of the dear departed husband, father and brother may ever comfort them and shed a hollowed influence on their lives.
