William was born about 1804 in Virginia, the son of unknown parents.
He died on 13 JUN 1859 in Benton County, Arkansas.
His wife was Nancy Woods, who he married on 19 MAR 1829 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Their nine known children were Martha A. (c1833-?), Mary Jane (c1835-?), Cynthia (c1836-?), John Wesley (c1837-1862), Elizabeth Penelope (1839-<1850), Artimissa Eliza (1841-1916), Sarah Ellen (1844-1890), Nancy Virginia (1848-1901) and William Azer Maclin (1851-1936).

In the left margin, vertical pages 17 and 18 and is written “Benton County, Osage Township”. same place on page 19 isn’t clear but probably also “Osage”
