Benton Co. Democrat, Oct 20, 1888

Died at his residence in Bentonville on Wed, Nov 21, 1888 of typhoid fever. His remains were interred in the City Cem. on Thurs. He was 56 years old. He came to Benton Co. 36 yrs. He was a well read man and one with whom it was a pleasure to converse. He leaves a wife and 4 children.

Additional information included by a Lee relative:

Parents were John Wesley Lee and Nancy Shelton, the founders of Leetown. (The civil War Battle of Pea Ridge was fought on their property.) Married 1856 to Margaret Elizabeth Woods. They had seven known children. He died of Typhoid Fever.
